We have a wedding next weekend & this might be my dress of choice! I am wearing an xsmall for reference, it might run a bit big so if you’re in between sizes I’d suggest sizing down. There is no need to dress up if you are staying near the Paddock, the Grandstand, or the Equestrian Room.
However, some popular items that ladies wear to Keeneland race track are sundresses, skirts, blouses, and pantsuits. Many ladies also accessorize with hats, sunglasses, and statement jewelry to complete their look. Everyone wants to look cute at Keeneland. They have so many amazing pieces that are perfect for Keeneland & the fall season ahead.
My Perfect Fall Dress
It’s smart to pack two outfits, with layers. You can never be too prepared. Avoid super short & flowy pieces because there is a 100% chance it’s going to be windy the minute you walk through the gates! I don’t know what it is about Keeneland, but it’s significantly more windy when you walk inside. I save the flowy, mini dresses for another occasion because I don’t want to be worried about a gust of wind flipping up the hem line of my dress. I’m 5’2″ by the way, so the length is perfect for me with a little heel.
Boots, tights, scarves, and fall’s best accessories are sported by men and women on the grounds of Keeneland every day. Call it people-watching if you will, but witnessing first-hand some of the best-dressed of Lexington is too much fun. General Admission, the Grandstand, and the Equestrian Room are the three most common locations where dress codes are enforced. When staying near the Paddock, you don’t need to dress up as much.

I think it would work with so many different body types, and because of the empire waist it would work so well with a baby bump. I think it’s pretty versatile despite the initial impression of it being a little extra. It could work for weddings, Keeneland, Thanksgiving, date night, etc! It’s more unique than most dresses I’ve seen lately. What does the dress code at the Keeneland Clubhouse entail?
